The 1968-69 O-Pee-Chee National Hockey League hockey card set consists of 216 cards. This is the first set to feature players from the six 1967-68 NHL expansion teams (Philadelphia Flyers, St. Louis Blues, Minnesota North Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, Oakland Seals and Los Angeles Kings).
This also marks the first time in the modern era of hockey cards that a set was produced under the O-Pee-Chee name. From this point forward, OPC would be the brand on cards sold in Canada and Topps would remain on the cards sold in the United States. The two sets would often differ with O-Pee-Chee producing more cards than Topps.
The 1968-69 O-Pee-Chee set is infamous for its number of errors and oddities. As we move forward with this new and improved virtual collection, we will post that error information on the individual card pages when applicable.
