Details

In 1965-66, Tracy Pratt was with the St. Louis Braves of the CPHL. He came to the club over the off-season from the St. Paul Rangers. This was part of an NHL trade between the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks that saw Ray Cullen and John McKenzie go to the Rangers in exchange for Dick Meissner, Mel Pearson, Dave Richardson and Pratt.

His 206 penalty minutes with the Braves did lead the league with a full 20 PIM edge over second place Noel Picard. His 200 PIM the season before with the Fred Shero coached St. Paul squad placed him fourth, just two minutes behind Pat Quinn of the Tulsa Oilers.

This rough and tumble style would follow him to the NHL. The 179 minutes he sat in 1970-71, his first year with the Buffalo Sabres, placed him fifth in the league. He was just two minutes behind fourth place Pete Mahovlich but a distant 110 PIM behind leader Keith Magnuson of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Between 1967-68 and 1976-77, Tracy Pratt appeared in 580 regular season and 25 playoff games in the National Hockey League. His career started with the Oakland Seals. Despite being property of the Rangers and Blackhawks, he never played for either of those teams. Along with the Seals, Pratt also played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, Colorado Rockies and Toronto Maple Leafs.
