Card Notes

Reliability and a sixth sense for scoring are two of Danny’s many assets. The former rookie-of-the-year (1968-69) has missed only one game in the last four seasons. He’s a fine two-way player, operation as a very effective defensive forward. Danny passed the 200-point last season.

Details

ERROR – In the info snippet, it mentions that Danny Grant has topped the 200 point plateau. However, in the stats box below that, it shows that he has 129 career points in the National Hockey League. That number should read 229.

Grant would continue his ironman streak through the 1972-73 season and would also play every game in 1973-74 and 1974-75. However, 1975-76 would bring the injury bug that would ultimately bring Danny’s NHL career to its knees. Over his final four years in the league, he would play no more than 54 games in a single season.

This was a major let-down for Grant after scoring 50 goals in 1974-75 with the Red Wings. He was fourth in the NHL in goal scoring behind Phil Esposito, Guy Lafleur and Rick Martin. These were the only four players to hit the 50 goal plateau that year.

Danny played 736 regular season and 43 playoff games in the NHL between 1965-66 and 1978-79 with the Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota North Stars, Detroit Red Wings and Los Angeles Kings. He would nearly double up his career point total with a final tally of 536.
