Details
After not scoring a goal in 1966-67, Terry Harper nearly doubled his career total in 1967-68, scoring three goals. That brought his career total to seven. His third of the season, scored on March 16, 1968 at the Montreal Forum in 6-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, was the game winner. He scored at 5:01 of the third period, assisted by John Ferguson and Yvan Cournoyer, to make the score 5-4 for the Habs. He also assisted on a Cournoyer goal in the second for a two point game.
This was his second of three career game winning goals. The next would not come until the 1972-73 NHL season with the Los Angeles Kings. His lone goal of the campaign gave the Kings a 4-3 lead over the Detroit Red Wings in a 5-3 win on March 24, 1973. That marker was scored on Detroit goalie Roy Edwards and assisted by Juha Widing and Bob Berry.
Between 1962-63 and 1980-81, Terry Harper played 1,066 regular season and 112 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens, Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues and Colorado Rockies. Harper won five Stanley Cup championships with the Habs.
