In that game, MacLeish scored three of the five goals, his 10th, 11th and 12th of the season. His second goal, scored on Minnesota goalie Pete LoPresti and assisted by Andre Dupont at 1:37 of the third stood as the game winner. His final goal was scored shorthanded, assisted by Don Saleski, while Bobby Clarke was in the box.
In 1973-74, Rick had 13 goals in 17 playoff games as the Broad Street Bullies captured their first title with a win over the Boston Bruins in the final. The following year, he scored eleven in 17 games as Philadelphia won the Stanley Cup again, this time taking out the Buffalo Sabres in the final.
Rick MacLeish played 846 regular season and 114 playoff games in the National Hockey League between 1970-71 and 1983-84 with the Flyers, Hartford Whalers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings.
