Chunky, swift-skating center called the Rocket Rocket as kid brother of Maurice (Rocket) Richard. A star in own right, Henri needed only two goals to reach 200-mark after nine seasons in league. Once a 30-goal man, Henri slumped to 14 last season.

In 1964-65, Henri Richard scored number 199 of his career on opening night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Goal number 200 came two games later against the Boston Bruins at the Montreal Forum. On November 28, 1964, the Pocket Rocket scored the first goal of the game at 2:11 of the second on Boston goalie Ed Johnston, assisted by Dave Balon. He also assisted on J.C. Tremblay‘s game winning goal in the third period.

Henri’s 30 goal season in 1959-60 remained as a career best. That year, he placed tied for fifth in the NHL with teammate Bernie Geoffrion, nine behind co-leaders Bobby Hull and Bronco Horvath. He also was also tied for fifth in the race for the Art Ross Trophy with Gordie Howe of the Detroit Red Wings.

He did follow up his 14 goal season in 1963-64 with 23 in 1964-65. It was the first of three straight years reaching the 20 goal plateau. Over his NHL career, Richard was a 20+ goal scorer nine times.

Between 1955-56 and 1974-755, Henri Richard played 1,258 regular season and 180 playoff games in the National Hockey League, all with the Montreal Canadiens. The eleven-time Stanley Cup champion was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979.
