One of the true stars of the NHL, he was runner-up in balloting for Rookie of the Year during the 1975-76 campaign. Before joining Islanders he was leading goalie and Rookie of Year with Muskegon of IHL.

Glenn Resch was second in voting for the Calder Trophy in 1975-76, a considerable distance behind winner and teammate Bryan Trottier. He played 44 games for the New York Islanders that year, posting a 2.07 goals against average and seven shutouts. He was named the NHL’s Second Team All-Star goaltender, behind First Team selection Ken Dryden.
In 1971-72, Chico played 59 games for the Muskegon Mohawks during the regular season, putting up a 3.09 GAA with four shutouts. He was the recipient of the Garry F. Longman Trophy as the IHL’s top rookie and also the James Norris Trophy as the goalie with the fewest goals against. In the post season, he played all eleven games for the Mohawks with the club reaching the Turner Cup final before falling to the Port Huron Wings.
Between 1973-74 and 1986-87, Glenn Resch appeared in 571 regular season and 47 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Islanders, Colorado Rockies, New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. The 1981-82 Bill Masterton Trophy winner won one Stanley Cup championship with the Islanders and played Internationally for both Canada and the United States.
