The trade mentioned above happened on November 15, 1950. Fern Flaman arrived in Toronto just in time to help the team to a Stanley Cup championship.
The Maple Leafs would trade Flaman back to the Boston Bruins on July 19, 1954, in exchange for Dave Creighton. Fern would finish out his NHL career with the Bruins, playing his last games during the 1960-61 season. From there, he would move to the American Hockey League where he would serve as player/coach for the next four years.
Fernie Flaman was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1990.
