To go along with those two Vezina Trophy wins, Bernie Parent was also the recipient of the Conn Smythe Trophy in both 1973-74 and 1974-75 as the Philadelphia Flyers captured their only two Stanley Cup titles to date. In 73-74, he posted a 2.02 goals against average, .933 save percentage and two shutouts over 17 games. The following year, he dropped the GAA to 1.89 with a .924 save percentage with four shutouts over 15 games.

In both those seasons, Parent put up an amazing 12 shutouts in each campaign. In 1973-74, Bernie began the season with consecutive blanks and had three before the month of October was done. Three of his 12 were against the New York Islanders.

Over his NHL career, Parent totaled 55 regular season shutouts and six more in the playoffs. The first one came during his rookie 1965-66 season as a member of the Boston Bruins. On November 14, 1965, the Bruins were hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Boston Garden. Bernie turned away all 30 shots put his way, including six by Dave Keon, in the 2-0 win. Forbes Kennedy scored the winning goal with assists going to Tommy Williams and Reg Fleming.

Between 1965-66 and 1978-79, Bernie Parent appeared in 608 regular season and 71 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Bruins, Flyers and Maple Leafs. He also appeared in 63 WHA games in 1972-73 with the Philadelphia Blazers. Parent was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984.
