A bit of an inaccuracy on the back of this 1980-81 O-Pee-Chee Wilf Paiement hockey card. Wilf was selected to Team Canada for 3 consecutive season while a member of the Colorado Rockies. In 1978, he helped the team to a bronze medal. In 1977, he had five goals and five assists for ten points in ten games with Canada placing fourth.

On December 29, 1979, Paiement and Pat Hickey were traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Going to the Rockies were Lanny McDonald and Joel Quenneville. He would stay in Toronto for parts of three seasons before being traded to the Quebec Nordiques for Miroslav Frycer.

Of his ten power play goals in 1979-80, eight were with the Maple Leafs and two were with the Rockies. Of his 30 total goals that year, nine came in just three games. While still with Colorado, Paiement had three goals and an assist for four points in a 6-5 win over the Hartford Whalers.

In Wilf’s fifth game with the Maple Leafs, he had five points on three goals and two assists in a 6-4 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Playing alongside Darryl Sittler, the pair combined for ten points with Darryl scoring two and assisting on three. The two were responsible for 13 of the 43 shots put on Vancouver goalie Glen Hanlon.

Between 1974-75 and 1987-88, Wilf Paiement played 946 regular season and 69 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Kansas City Scouts, Colorado Rockies, Toronto Maple Leafs, Quebec Nordiques, New York Rangers, Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins. Originally, he was the second overall pick by the Scouts at the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft.
