Details

Stan Mikita remains today the all-time leader for the Chicago Blackhawks with 926 assists and 1,467 points. He also is the team’s all-time leader in games played and plus/minus. His 541 career goals place him second, 63 behind Bobby Hull.

1976-77 was another injury shortened season for Mikita but he was able to reach the 500 goal milestone. We take a closer look at that here on our Facebook Page: Stan Mikita 500th goal. The article is also embedded below.

Mikita’s one time NHL record and career best of 97 points, accomplished in 1966-67 and 1968-69, has since been eclipsed by a number of Chicago players. The franchise record now belongs to Denis Savard and his 131 points in 1987-88. Stan’s 67 assists in 1968-69 still rank him tied for fifth with Savard.

Between 1958-59 and 1979-80, Stan Mikita played 1,394 regular season and 155 playoff games in the National Hockey League, all with the Chicago Blackhawks. The four time Art Ross Trophy winner and two time Hart Trophy recipient helped the Hawks to a Stanley Cup title in 1960-61. Mikita’s number 21 was retired by the Blackhawks in 1980, the first number to be retired by the club. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983.
