The only National Hockey League player born in Czechoslovakia, Stan has become one of the real superstars of the League. He does everything well, pass, set up plays and stickhandle. Now starting his 16th season with the Black Hawks, Stan has won the scoring championship four times and played over 1,000 games for Chicago. Stan is also a top checker and a great face-off expert.

In that 16th season for Stan Mikita, 1974-75, the veteran put up great numbers. He scored 36 goals and assisted on 50 for 86 points, leading the Blackhawks in scoring. He added seven points over eight playoff games with Chicago bowing out in the quarter-final to the Buffalo Sabres.

In game 3 of that series against Buffalo, Mikita scored the overtime game winner in Chicago’s only win of the series. In the 5-4 win on April 17, 1975 at Chicago Stadium, Stan assisted on goals by Dick Redmond and Cliff Koroll before scoring 2:31 into overtime. That goal was scored on Gerry Desjardins and assisted by Redmond and Koroll.

Between 1958-59 and 1979-80, Stan Mikita played 1,394 regular season and 155 playoff games in the National Hockey League, all with the Chicago Blackhawks. A Stanley Cup champion in 1960-61, Mikita was a four-time Art Ross Trophy winner and two-time Hart Trophy winner. Stan was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983.
