Twelve straight 20-goal seasons have made Norm Ullman a real super star. He was Toronto’s best forward last season, and he’s long been one of the NHL’s top defensive forwards. He’s quite well-liked and a “complete” player.

Details

The O-Pee-Chee jinx stopped Norm Ullman’s streak of 20 goal seasons at 12. Ullman scored 18 with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1969-70, despite not missing a game. However, he was back on track by 1970-71 and went another four years reaching the 20 goal plateau.

The 35 Norm scored in 1968-69 with the Buds was the second best of his NHL career and placed him in a two-way tie with Red Berenson for seventh in the league. His career best came in 1964-65 when he scored 42 for the Detroit Red Wings. That total led the league with a three goal edge over Bobby Hull. His 83 points were second in the race for Art Ross Trophy, four behind Stan Mikita.

Between 1955-56 and 1974-75, Norm Ullman appeared in 1,410 regular season and 106 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs. He played an additional 144 regular season and nine playoff games in the WHA with the Edmonton Oilers over two seasons. Ullman was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982.
