Starting sixth season with Detroit. A fine stick-handler and clever playmaker he could become one of the outstanding centres in the National Hockey League. Has scored over 20 goals in each of last three seasons. One of the many players in the NHL of Ukrainian descent. Ullman spends his summers in Edmonton.

1960-61 turned out to be a great year for Norm Ullman. Playing all 70 regular season games for the Detroit Red Wings, he scored 28 goals and assisted on 42 for 70 points, his best year to that point in his NHL career. His goal total tied him for seventh in the NHL with Camille Henry of the New York Rangers while he tied for sixth in the race for the Art Ross Trophy with Toronto’s Red Kelly.

Ullman’s career best came in 1964-65 when he led the NHL with 42 goals in 70 games, a three goal edge over runner-up Bobby Hull. In all, he topped the 20 goal plateau 16 times during his NHL career and finished ten shy of the 500 goal milestone.

Between 1955-56 and 1974-75, Norm Ullman played 1,410 regular season and 106 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs. He also played 144 regular season and nine playoff games in the WHA over two years with the Edmonton Oilers, 1975-76 and 1976-77. Ullman was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982.
