Details

1968-69 would be the third and last season for Glen Sather with the Boston Bruins. He was left available by the Bruins and was picked up by the Pittsburgh Penguins for the 1969-70 NHL season. Unfortunate for him, he missed out on Boston’s 1969-70 Stanley Cup championship.

Glen would face his old teammates in the 1971-72 Stanley Cup final as a member of the New York Rangers. The Bruins would come out on top in the series 4-2 in a very evenly fought matchup that saw Boston outscore the Rangers by just two total goals over the six games.

His best year offensively came in 1973-74 when he scored 15 goals and assisted on 29 for 44 points over 69 games as a member of the St. Louis Blues. He started the season with the Rangers but was traded two games in for Jack Egers. By 1974-75, he was a member of the Montreal Canadiens.

Between 1966-67 and 1975-76, Glen Sather played in 658 regular season and 72 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Bruins, Penguins, Rangers, Blues, Canadiens and Minnesota North Stars. He capped his playing career with a single WHA season in 1976-77 with the Edmonton Oilers.
