Gary was involved in a trade that sent Rod Seiling to Rangers in 1967. After three seasons in NHL competition, Gary is still improving. He was second-high scorer for the Blues last season and his robust play helped St. Louis to the league championship.

After spending three years in the New York Rangers minor league system, Gary Sabourin got his NHL start in 1967-68 after the Blue Shirts traded him to the St. Louis Blues on June 6, 1967 with Tim Ecclestone, Gord Kannegiesser and Bob Plager for Rod Seiling. He started that 1967-68 season in the CHL with the Kansas City Blues but soon found his way up to the NHL club. He was with St. Louis for three consecutive trips to the Stanley Cup final.
A slight ERROR on the back of the card. In 1969-70, Sabourin was the third highest scorer on the Blues, not the second. His 28 goals were five behind team leader Red Berenson and a single goal behind Phil Goyette. This would remain as his career high, equaled again in 1971-72.
Three of his 28 goals in 1969-70 came on the night of March 11, 1970 on the road against the Minnesota North Stars. Sabourin pounded Minnesota goalie Cesare Maniago with seven shots to get the hat trick. St. Louis won the game easily by a 9-1 score.
Between 1967-68 and 1976-77, Gary Sabourin appeared in 627 regular season and 62 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs, California Seals and Cleveland Barons.
