Details

Heck of a prediction, Topps. Bobby Hull broke the 50 goal barrier in 1965-66, scoring 54 for the Chicago Blackhawks. It was the second of five times he would reach the plateau over his NHL career. At the time, just the Golden Jet, Maurice Richard and Bernie Geoffrion had scored 50. 54 goals stood as a league record until Hull broke his own mark with 58 in 1968-69.

Bobby would repeat as Hart Trophy winner again in 1965-66, his second of two career wins. He would also take home the Art Ross Trophy for the third and final time. His 97 points that year broke Dickie Moore‘s record of 96, set in 1958-59. He led the league by a 22 goal edge over Frank Mahovlich and was 19 points ahead of Art Ross runner-up and teammate Stan Mikita.

Between 1957-58 and 1979-80, Bobby Hull played 1,063 regular season and 119 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Chicago Blackhawks, Winnipeg Jets and Hartford Whalers. Between 1972-73 and 1978-79, he played in the WHA with the Jets. Bobby was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983.
