Bernie is one of the top goalies in the NHL. He’s a two-time first team All-Star choice, and has twice won the Vezina Trophy. Bernie was sidelined with a neck injury most of 1975-76.

Bernie Parent got over his neck injuries by the end of the 1975-76 NHL season and was able to split time with Wayne Stephenson in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Parent played in eight games as the Flyers reached the final before bowing out to the Montreal Canadiens. Parent was back in full force for 1976-77, appearing in 61 of Philadelphia’s 80 games, recording a 2.71 goals against average and five shutouts.
The First Team All-Star selections and Vezina Trophy mentioned on the back of this 1976-77 O-Pee-Chee hockey card would be the only two over Bernie’s career. It failed to mention that Parent was also the recipient of the Conn Smythe Trophy twice as playoff MVP.
Between 1965-66 and 1978-79, Bernie Parent appeared in 608 regular season and 71 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers. He also played 63 games in the WHA with the Philadelphia Blazers. Bernie’s number 1 was retired by the Flyers in 1979 and he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984.
