Indeed, Wayne Thomas was the Molson Cup winner for the Montreal Canadiens in 1973-74. It was just the second year of the Molson Cup Three Stars with Ken Dryden winning the award in 1972-73. See below for a list of winners.
Thomas did have two assists for the Habs in 1973-74. Over his career, he would total six assists including one with the Toronto Maple Leafs and three with the New York Rangers.
Wayne played a total of 243 games in the National Hockey League between 1972-73 and 1980-81 with the Canadiens, Maple Leafs and Rangers. He recorded ten shutouts and a 3.34 goals against average.
