Last year was Wayne’s first full season in the NHL – although he has been with the Bruins CPHL team and AHL team for four seasons, he scored only nine goals last season but five of them came in the playoffs – a smooth play-maker.

A bit of a wording ERROR on the back of this 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Cashman rookie card. It states he scored five of his nine goals in 1969-70 in the playoffs. In fact, he scored nine regular season and five playoff goals for a total of 14. Five of the nine came during his first ten games of the season. In the playoffs, two of his five were game winners.
1970-71 saw Cashman’s offensive numbers more than double with 21 goals and 58 assists for 79 points. The assist total placed him fifth in the NHL behind four teammates: Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, John Bucyk and Ken Hodge. He would contribute 59 helpers in 1973-74 for a career best.
Between 1964-65 and 1982-83, Wayne Cashman played 1,027 regular season and 145 playoff games in the National Hockey League, all with the Boston Bruins. Eight times, he surpassed 20 goals in a season with a career high of 30 in 1973-74.
