Details
Stan Jonathan’s streak of 15 points in six games came during the 1977-78 NHL season, playing for the Boston Bruins. Between March 12 and March 23, Jonathan scored seven goals and added eight assists.
In the March 12 game against the Los Angeles Kings, Stan put up a Gordie Howe Hat Trick with a goal, two assists and two third period fights. At 4:27 of the 3rd, he took on Bob Murdoch and with one second left in the match, he dropped the gloves with Bert Wilson.
In two of the six games, Jonathan had four point nights, one against the Minnesota North Stars and one against the Cleveland Barons. In the fourth game, on March 19, he had a single goal against the Maple Leafs and again had two fighting majors.
That year, Jonathan put up career high numbers with 27 goals and 25 assists for 52 points over 68 games. It was the first of two campaigns when he topped the 20 goal plateau.
Between 1975-76 and 1982-83, Stan Jonathan appeared in 411 regular season and 63 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins. He was a fifth round pick by Boston at the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft after a three year junior career with the Peterborough Petes.
