Card Notes
A strong center ice player, Orland is a thirteen year veteran in the pro ranks – six of them in the NHL. His experience as a center is heavily counted on by the new Vancouver entry to the NHL to give poise and assurance to rookie wingers.
Details
Prior to the start of the 1970-71 season, Orland Kurtenbach had actually played parts of nine seasons in the National Hockey League. Albeit, only six of those saw him play more than 50 games.
Kurtenbach played four years for the Canucks before calling it a career after the 1973-74 season. He served as team captain throughout those four years and was the first ever in franchise history. Orland was the first of seven players to be inducted into the Vancouver Canucks Ring Of Honour.
Orland appeared in three games for the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1966-67 playoffs to earn a spot on the Stanley Cup.
