Details

The 1975-76 season mentioned was a career year offensively for Jimmy Watson, totaling 36 points. Three of those points came on October 12, 1975 in a 4-1 over the California Golden Seals at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. Watson assisted on a pair of Reg Leach goals and the game winner by Don Saleski.

In 1978-79, Jim had a career high nine goals. For the defensive defenseman, his three point game against the Washington Capitals on March 25, 1979 was an offensive explosion. In the 7-4 home win, Watson scored a pair of goals, his fifth and sixth of the 1978-79 NHL season. The first goal, scored at 11:00 of the third period, was a shorthanded marker with Andre Dupont in the box for slashing. Both his goals were assisted by Bobby Clarke and scored on Washington goalie Gary Inness. He also had a helper on a Reggie Leach goal in the second period.

Between 1972-73 and 1981-82, Jim Watson played 613 regular season and 101 playoff games in the National Hockey League, all with the Philadelphia Flyers. Originally, he was third round pick by the Flyers at the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft after playing junior for the Calgary Centennials.
