“Guy Lafleur Scores vs. Every Team in League”
Montreal, March 8 – Right wing Guy Lafleur of the Montreal Canadiens became only the second player in National Hockey League history to score 50 goals in four straight seasons tonight, when he scored his 49th and 50th goals in a 4-3 victory over the Washington Capitals. Both of Lafleur’s goals came against Washington goalie Jim Bedard. Phil Esposito, formerly with the Boston Bruins, also scored 50 goals in four consecutive seasons.
