Details

Perhaps, this Topps card jinxed Glenn Hall. His streak of consecutive games played would come to an end in 1962-63. He still appeared in an extremely respectable 66 games but Denis DeJordy was allowed to jump in between the pipes for five games.

The streak ended on November 7, 1962, 13 games into the season, after Hall tweaked his back getting ready for the game. His 502 consecutive games played remains the most in the NHL all-time for goaltenders. It also places him in the 25th spot for players, regardless of position.

Glenn was named to a First Team All-Star for the fourth time in 1962-63. He would be selected three more times over his career. Hall was also a Second Team All-Star four times. Hall was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1975.
