After being shuffled between Buffalo and Montreal for several seasons, he is now playing his 5th straight year for the Montreal club. When he breaks into his right wing sweep it spells danger to the opposition and usually pays off.

Floyd Curry and the Montreal Canadiens would do something in 1953-54 that they did in the previous three seasons, reach the Stanley Cup final. Although, this time around, the fell to the Detroit Red Wings in a tight seven game set. Curry and the Habs would reach the final in eight straight seasons with Floyd a part of four Stanley Cup championships.

In 1954-55, the Canadiens again lost to the Red Wings in the final. Curry tied Bernie Geoffrion for the team lead with eight goals in 12 games, just one shy of playoff leader Gordie Howe. In the opening round against the Boston Bruins, he got the ball rolling, assisting on both goals in a game 1 2-0 win before another 2 point night in game 2. In that match, a 3-1 Montreal win, he scored the opening goal then assisted on the second, scored by Calum McKay, that would hold as the game-winner.

Between 1947-48 and 1957-58, Floyd Curry played 601 regular season and 91 playoff games in the National Hockey League, all with the Montreal Canadiens. He topped out with a 20 goal campaign in 1951-52. As a head coach, he led the Montreal Royals to an EPHL championship in 1959-60 and coached the Quebec Aces to the 1963-64 AHL Calder Cup final before being swept by the Cleveland Barons in four games.
