Once called the “Clown Prince of Hockey”, Eddie has the knack of getting hockey fans everywhere on his side, while this does not always hold true for Management. A rock ’em, sock’em type of player, Eddie had his best year in the NHL two seasons ago with Toronto.

Details

The 26 goals that Eddie Shack put up for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1965-66 would nearly remain a career high. However, in 1970-71, he totaled 27 with two goals as a member of the Los Angeles Kings and 25 with the Buffalo Sabres. Five times during his NHL career, Shack topped the 20 goal plateau.

Shortly after winning a Stanley Cup championship with the Maple Leafs in 1966-67, Ed was traded to the Boston Bruins for Murray Oliver. He came through for the Bruins in his first year, scoring 23 goals over 70 games during the 1967-68 regular season.

Between 1958-59 and 1974-75, Shack appeared in 1,047 regular season and 74 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins. He was part of four Stanley Cup championship teams during his time in Toronto.
