An outstanding junior career preceded Eddie’s arrival with Detroit in 1963. Swift skater, he’s nick-named “Jet”. Drafted from Toronto in 1967, he’s been one of steadiest L.A. performers. Eddie is the all-time Los Angeles scoring leader.

1971-72 was the end of the line in Los Angeles and the NHL for Eddie Joyal. He started the season with the Kings, playing 44 games before ending up with the Philadelphia Flyers to finish out the season. He was traded on January 28, 1972 with Bill Flett, Ross Lonsberry and Jean Potvin for Serge Bernier, Larry Brown, Bill Lesuk and Jim Johnson.
Joyal jumped to the World Hockey Association for the rebel league’s inaugural 1972-73 season. An Alberta boy, Eddie played four years for the Edmonton Oilers before retiring from as a player. This was a homecoming after a decade away. Eddie helped the Edmonton Flyers of the WHL win a championship in 1961-62 before moving up the Detroit Red Wings the following year.
Between 1962-63 and 1971-72, Eddie Joyal played 465 regular season and 50 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers. The three time 20 goal scorer had a career best 33 goals with the Kings in 1968-69.
