Eddie Giacomin was indeed a First Team NHL All-Star on two occasions. He was honoured with the selection for the 1966-67 and 1970-71 seasons. He was also a Second Team All-Star over the three years in between, 1967-68, 1968-69 and 1969-70.
As per the front of the card, Giacomin was sold to the Detroit Red Wings on October 31, 1975. He had played four games for the New York Rangers to start the 1975-76 season, posting a dismal 4.75 goals against average.
Eddie finished out his NHL career as a backup to Jim Rutherford with the Red Wings. He played just nine games in his final year, 1977-78. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987 and his jersey number 1 was retired by the Rangers in 1989.
