Details

Dick Redmond was the fifth overall pick by the North Stars at the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft behind Rejean Houle, Marc Tardif, Don Tannahill and Frank Spring. He was limited to just 16 games over a season and a half with Minnesota before heading to California. On March 7, 1971, he was shipped to the Seals with Tom Williams for Ted Hampson and Wayne Muloin.

With the Golden Seals, Redmond became a regular in the NHL. However, after a full season with the club in 1971-72, he was again on the move, this time to the Blackhawks. 24 games into the 1972-73 NHL season, he was traded to Chicago for Darryl Maggs. In that first season, he helped the Hawks reach the Stanley Cup final before falling to the Montreal Canadiens.

Between 1969-70 and 1981-82, Dick Redmond appeared in 771 regular season and 66 playoff games in the National Hockey League. Along with the North Stars, Golden Seals and Blackhawks, he also played for the St. Louis Blues, Atlanta Flames and Boston Bruins.

Brother Mickey Redmond played in the NHL between 1967-68 and 1975-76 with the Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings. Mickey was twice a 50 goal scorer and unfortunately had his career cut short by injuries.
