Dean Prentice was back healthy for 1958-59, playing in a full 70 game schedule for the New York Rangers. However, the “highly rated sniper” put in just 17 goals, barely over the total of 13 he scored in 1957-58 when he appeared in just 38 games.
The following year, 1959-60, Prentice had a career high 32 goals, the only time he would surpass the 30 goal plateau over his long NHL career. Dean played 1,378 regular season games between 1952-53 and 1973-74 with the Rangers, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota North Stars. Over that time, he netted 391 goals.
