Details
A slight error: It should read one of 20 U.S. born players in the NHL, not just pro hockey in general.
Craig Patrick had a career year in 1972-73 with 20 goals and 22 assists for 42 points with the Golden Seals. His best game came on December 22, 1972 when he helped the Seals to just their fifth win in 32 games. Patrick scored two goals and assisted on Joey Johnston’s game winner in a 4-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
His next best season came with the Kansas City Scouts in 1975-76 when he scored 17. That year, he played an important role in a major upset by the Scouts over the Canadiens at the Montreal Forum. On December 3, 1975, Patrick scored an unassisted goal on Michel Larocque while also assisting on goals by Robin Burns and Wilf Paiement. Paiement had a hat trick in the game, including the game winner.
