Card Notes

Bryan’s 89 point total last season was his best ever. Before coming to the Blazers, Bryan was a regular with the Chicago Blackhawks. In the 1972-73 season he scored 54 points. Originally in the New York Rangers farm system, Bryan was drafted by the L.A. Kings in the ’67 Expansion. Was well on his way when he had to sit out part of 67-68 with a broken leg.

Details

1974-75 would see Bryan Campbell top is 27 goal performance in 1973-74 with 29 goals for the Vancouver Blazers. He continued to play in the WHA until the end of 1977-78 with the Blazers, Cincinnati Stingers, Indianapolis Racers and Edmonton Oilers.

The card contains a bit of an error. Campbell was actually originally in the Detroit Red Wings organization. He was picked up by the Rangers after the 1965-66 season. Bryan had been playing with Detroit’s CPHL affiliate, the Memphis Wings. He played his junior hockey with the Hamilton Red Wings.

Campbell’s shift from the Los Angeles Kings to Chicago Blackhawks was a crowded move. Going to the Windy City with him were Gerry Desjardins and Bill White. Moving to the Kings were Denis DeJordy, Gilles Marotte and Jim Stanfield.
