Details

The 165 points on 68 goals and 97 assists put up by Bruce Boudreau in 1974-75 with the Toronto Marlboros remains today a franchise best. The Marlies became the Hamilton Dukes in 1989-90 and the Guelph Storm in 1991-92 and no other player has come close.

In 1974-75, he tied for the goal scoring lead with Peter Lee of the Ottawa 67’s. The pair were just two goals ahead of a third place tie between Dennis Maruk and Mark Napier. Boudreau earned the Eddie Powers Trophy with just a two point edge over Tim Young of the 67’s. The Marlboros dominated the regular season and playoffs before capturing the Memorial Cup championship.

Despite the numbers, Bruce was just a third round pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft. The year prior, he was selected in the first round of the WHA draft by the Minnesota Fighting Saints. He would play 30 games with Minnesota in 1975-76.

A dominant player in the minors, Bruce Boudreau appeared in just 141 regular season and nine playoff games in the National Hockey League between 1976-77 and 1985-86 with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks.
