1980-81 would be the last full season Brad Marsh would play in the Flames organization. He appeared in all 80 games for the third straight season and helped the team reach the semi-final in their first season in Calgary after moving from Atlanta. The Flames fell to the Minnesota North Stars in six games. The North Stars would lose in five games to the New York Islanders in the Stanley Cup final.

On November 11, 1981, after 17 games to start the 1981-82 season with Calgary, Marsh was shipped to the Philadelphia Flyers, straight up for Mel Bridgman. He would twice go to the Stanley Cup final with Philadelphia, 1984-85 and 1986-87. On both occasions, the Mike Keenan coached Flyers lost to the Edmonton Oilers.

Between 1978-79 and 1992-93, Brad Marsh played in 1,086 regular season and 97 playoff games in the National Hockey League. Along with the Flames and Flyers, Marsh also played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators. Originally, he was a first round pick by the Flames in 1978 after a stellar junior career with the London Knights, playing alongside Rob Ramage on the blue line.
