Last year Bobby played a total of 67 games out of a possible 70 with the Maple Leafs. He only scored one goal and had nine assists but his defensive work more than made up for his offensive weakness. Bobby is a solid body contact man and takes the rival forwards out of the play quite consistently. In addition to being and excellent hockey player Bobby plays a good game of golf and assisted in the pro shop at the new Cedarbrae Golf Club this year.

Details
The goal referred to on the back of this 1958-59 Parkhurst hockey card just happened to be the first of 37 NHL career goals for Bob Baun. On November 28, 1957, the Toronto Maple Leafs paid a visit to Detroit Olympia to take on the Red Wings. Baun scored at 5:15 of the third period on Terry Sawchuk, assisted by Billy Harris and Tod Sloan to tie the score at 2-2. The game ended in a 3-3 tie.
Baun’s 1958-59 NHL season was shortened to just 51 regular season games but he appeared in all 12 of Toronto’s playoff games. The fourth seed Maple Leafs beat the Boston Bruins in the opening round. The set needed the full seven games with the Bruins outscoring the Leafs 21-20 in the series. Toronto then lost to the Montreal Canadiens in five games in the Stanley Cup final.
Between 1956-57 and 1972-73, Bob Baun played 964 regular season games and 96 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Oakland Seals and Detroit Red Wings. He was a four-time Stanley Cup champ with the Leafs and returned to the club for his final two seasons in the NHL.
