Two straight terrific seasons have tabbed Andre as a solid NHL performer. The speedy little guy is already with his fifth NHL club, and he’s turned into a real fans’ favourite in Vancouver. “Andy” also plays left wing, and he even played defense in junior hockey.

The Vancouver Canucks were the fifth NHL team for Andre Boudrias, and the last. After six full seasons with Vancouver, Andre finished out his pro career with a pair of seasons in the WHA with the Quebec Nordiques.

Boudrias got his NHL start with the Montreal Canadiens but was played sparingly, appearing in just seven games between 1963-64 and 1966-67. His first action with the Habs was in 1963-64 while still a junior with the Montreal Junior Canadiens. In four games that year, Andre totaled five points on a goal and four assists.

On March 21, 1964, Boudrias had a goal and assist in a game against the Boston Bruins at the Montreal Forum. His goal, scored at 3:40 of the second period, was the first of his NHL career. Assisted by Jacques Laperriere and Bobby Rousseau, that goal scored on Boston goalie Ed Johnston was the game winner in the 5-1 Montreal win.

In that 1963-64 season, Andre’s 135 points in 55 games with the Junior Canadiens led the league and earned him his second Eddie Powers Trophy. Teammate Yvan Cournoyer was runner-up with 111 points with Fred Stanfield of the St. Catharines Black Hawks coming in third with 109.

1972-73 saw Boudrias put up a career high 30 goals with the Canucks. Among the 30 was a hat trick against the Toronto Maple Leafs and a penalty shot goal against the Buffalo Sabres. The penalty shot goal was scored on Roger Crozier. His second goal of that match was the game winner in a 5-2 win.

Between 1963-64 and 1975-76, Andre Boudrias played 662 regular season and 34 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota North Stars, Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues and Vancouver Canucks. He played the 1976-77 and 1977-78 seasons in the WHA with the Quebec Nordiques, winning an Avco World Trophy championship in his first year.
