1962-63 would be business as usual for Allan Stanley and the Toronto Maple Leafs as the team went on to capture their second of three consecutive Stanley Cup championships. However, Stanley would not make it three in a row when it came to Second Team All-Star selections. He would get a third and final nod in 1965-66 with the Buds.

Allan Stanley would play 1,244 regular season and 109 playoff games in the National Hockey League between 1948-49 and 1968-69 with the New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers. He helped the Maple Leafs to four Stanley Cup championships in the 1960’s.

In 1959-60, at the age of 33, Allan was the runner-up for the Norris Trophy, behind Doug Harvey of the Montreal Canadiens and just ahead of Marcel Pronovost of the Detroit Red Wings. He would never win the award as best defenseman. Allan was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981.
