Al has become a genuine star in two short years. He led the Seals with five game-winning goals in 1975-76. Had eight power play goals. Al hasn’t missed a game since joining the franchise.

Amongst Al MacAdam’s 32 goals with the California Seals in 1975-76 were a pair of hat tricks. He would record just one more over the rest of his NHL career. The first came in just the second game of the season for the Seals. On October 11, 1975, California made a stop at Detroit Olympia to play the Red Wings. Al’s three goals helped the Seals to a 5-2 win and a 2-0 start to the year. The first goals was shorthanded and all three were scored on Detroit goalie Jim Rutherford.

His second hat trick of 1975-76 came February 25, 1976 against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. In a fight-filled affair, the Seals came out on top 6-4, powered by MacAdam’s 25th, 26th and 27th goals of the season. All three goals were scored on Rangers goalie John Davidson.

The 32 goals Al scored in 1975-76 stood as his second highest of his career. In 1979-80 with the Minnesota North Stars, MacAdam put up a career best 42 goals and 93 points. He finished his career with 240 regular season markers over 864 regular season games.

Between 1973-74 and 1984-85, Al MacAdam appeared in 864 regular season and 64 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Philadelphia Flyers, California Seals, Cleveland Barons, Minnesota North Stars and Vancouver Canucks. He was originally a fourth round pick by the Flyers at the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft.
