Card Notes
“Yvon set a record in the American Hockey League by scoring goal in 12 consecutive games while with Nova Scotia in 1972-73.”
The current AHL record stands at 15. That was accomplished during the 2008-09 season by Alexandre Giroux of the Hershey Bears. Over those 15 games, Alexandre totaled 22 goals. Giroux eclipsed the previous mark of 14 games with a goal set by Brett Hull of the Moncton Golden Flames back in 1986-87.
Back in that 1972-73 season, Yvon Lambert led the AHL with 52 goals and earned the John B. Sollenberger Trophy with 104 points. He helped the Voyageurs reach the Calder Cup final before losing out to the Cincinnati Swords.
Lambert’s career high for goals in a season in the NHL was 32. He did this twice in consecutive seasons with the Canadiens, 1974-75 and 1975-76.
