Of those eight wins in 1974-75 with the Capitals, four were against Original 6 teams. One of the eight was a 3-0 shutout over the Kansas City Scouts, Washington’s expansion partner. In that game, Low turned away all 32 shots to record the first blank in franchise history. In 16 games, Low faced over 40 shots. In two games, he was peppered with 50.
Ron was EHL rookie of the year in 1970-71, playing for the Jacksonville Rockets. He played 49 games for a Rockets team that won just eleven of 74 during the regular season. In 1973-74, he was a CHL Second Team All-Star with the Tulsa Oilers. Over 56 games, he posted a 3.16 goals against average for the Toronto Maple Leafs affiliate. He would later be a First Team All-Star and MVP in the league as a member of the 1978-79 Kansas City Red Wings.
Between 1972-73 and 1984-85, Ron Low appeared in 382 regular season and just seven playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings, Quebec Nordiques, Edmonton Oilers and New Jersey Devils.
