Details

Over his NHL career, Larry Robinson was named a First Team All-Star three times and Second Team All-Star three times. In 1978-79, he was named to the First Team, alongside Denis Potvin from the New York Islanders.

Larry’s 21 points in 15 games during the 1977-78 Stanley Cup playoffs certainly earned him the Conn Smythe Trophy. In the Cup clinching game six of the final series against the Boston Bruins, Robinson assisted on the first two goals of the game for Montreal. The second was the game winner, scored by Steve Shutt and also assisted by Pierre Mondou.

Robinson was also a Norris Trophy winner on two occasions, 1976-77 and 1979-80. In the first year, it was a tight race with Borje Salming of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Larry was also fifth in Hart Trophy voting (Salming was 4th). In 1979-80, it was again Robinson and Salming in the top two positions but Larry won by a considerable margin.

Between 1972-73 and 1991-92, Larry Robinson appeared in 1,384 regular season and 227 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens and Los Angeles Kings. Over those 20 campaigns, Robinson played in the post season in each. He was a member of six Stanley Cup champions in Montreal. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995 and his number 19 was retired by the Habs in 2007.
