Details

Ken Dryden was the Conn Smythe Trophy winner in 1970-71 and the Calder Trophy winner in 1971-72. What the back of this 1976-77 O-Pee-Chee hockey card does not mention that, at the time, he was already a two time winner of the Vezina Trophy. He would win it again in 76-77 and the following two seasons after that for a grand total of five times with his name on the award.

Dryden probably deserved a second Conn Smythe Trophy in 1976-77, leading the Habs to their second of four consecutive Stanley Cup championships. Playing all 14 games for the team, Ken posted a 1.55 goals against average, .932 save percentage and four shutouts. He turned away all but one of 26 shots in the game four Stanley Cup clinching overtime 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins. Ultimately, it was Guy Lafleur, along with his 26 points over 14 games, that was given the Conn Smythe.

Between 1970-71 and 1978-79, Ken Dryden appeared in 397 regular season and 112 playoff games in the National Hockey League, all with the Montreal Canadiens. Ken was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983 and his number 29 was retired by the Canadiens in 2007.
