A rugged forward who can play either center or right wing. Traded to Toronto by Boston for Wayne Carleton midway through the 1969-70 season. Was a member of the Memorial Cup winning Edmonton Oil Kings in 1966.
Details
The trade mentioned above between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs happened on December 10, 1969. Jim Harrison played with the Maple Leafs until the end of the 1971-72 season. Carleton was shipped to the California Goldens Seals after the 1970-71 season. Both Harrison and Carleton would jump to the World Hockey Association for the league’s inaugural 1972-73 campaign.
Jim was a member of the 1966 Memorial Cup champion Edmonton Oil Kings. However, only for the Memorial Cup run. Harrison was a member of the Estevan Bruins and was a pickup by the Oil Kings. Edmonton had eliminated the Bruins in the Abbott Cup final.
Edmonton eliminated the Oshawa Generals four games to two in the best of seven final to capture the championship. All games were played at Maple Leafs Gardens in Toronto. Bobby Orr served as team captain for the Generals.
