Details

Harold Snepsts scored his first NHL goal, his only goal of the 1974-75 NHL season, on January 8, 1975 at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. At 12:51 of the third period, Snepsts put this milestone goal past Leafs goalie Dunc Wilson, assisted by Garry Monahan. This brought the Canucks to within a goal of the Maple Leafs but ultimately Vancouver lost the game 6-4.

Out of his 38 career goals in the NHL, Harold would score just one more shorthanded. That goal came during the 1982-83 season and was one of two goals he would score that year. On November 2, 1982 at Le Colisée against the Quebec Nordiques, Snepsts scored on the penalty kill at 15:03 of the second with Doug Halward in the box. This goal on Dan Bouchard made the score 3-1 and served as the game winner in the 5-2 Vancouver victory.

Originally, Snepsts was a fourth round pick by the Canucks at the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft out of the Edmonton Oil Kings. His 19 games with the Seattle Totems in 1974-75, along with three conditioning games with the Adirondack Red Wings in 1987-88 would be all the minor league action he would see over his career.

Between 1974-75 and 1990-91, Harold Snepsts played 1,033 regular season and 93 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Vancouver Canucks, Minnesota North Stars, Detroit Red Wings and St. Louis Blues. His single career playoff goal was scored for the Canucks on April 9, 1983 on Rejean Lemelin in a 5-4 win over the Calgary Flames.
