The picture on the front of this 1963-64 Parkhurst NHL Hank Ciesla hockey card is a bit of a ‘Frankenstein’. The head might belong to Ciesla but, as we can see in the camparison photo below, the body belongs to Marcel Pronovost. The giveaway clue that caught my eye was the poorly erased ‘A’ on the front of the jersey.
Although an outstanding player at the junior and minor pro levels, Hank Ciesla never really made it in the NHL. This card is his last of two. The Hank Ciesla rookie card can be found in the 1958-59 Topps NHL set.
