Details

The 24 goals Carol Vadnais scored for the Oakland Seals in 1970-71 remained a career best. He would later top his points total, putting up a career high of 74 with the Boston Bruins in 1974-75, powered by 56 assists.

A prospect of the Montreal Canadiens, Vadnais played just 32 regular season and two playoff games with the Habs over his first two years in the NHL. In the 1967-68 post season, he played a single game, the first of the final series against the St. Louis Blues. Carol got on the scoresheet for a off-setting high-sticking penalty in the first period with Dickie Moore of the Blues going to the box for the same infraction.

In that 1967-68 season, Vadnais also scored his first NHL goal. In fact, over his 31 games, the only two points Carol accumulated came from the same game. In a December 13, 1967 against the Bruins at Boston Garden, he scored the final goal of the 6-2 Habs win, putting one past Gerry Cheevers with help from Jacques Lemaire and Serge Savard. He also assisted on a John Ferguson goal.

Between 1966-67 and 1982-83, Carol Vadnais played 1,087 regular season and 106 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens, California Golden Seals, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils. He was a Stanley Cup champion with both the Canadiens and Bruins.
