Details
Bobby Hull’s offensive numbers were humble in his 1957-58 NHL rookie season. However, by his third year in the league he was the recipient of the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL’s top scorer. He won the award in 1959-60 with a modest 81 points on 39 goals and 42 assists. He was just a single point ahead of Bronco Horvath of the Boston Bruins.
A product of the St. Catharines Teepees junior team, Hull would go on to win the Art Ross Trophy two more times. He was also a two time recipient of the Hart Trophy as National Hockey League most valuable player.
Bobby played 1,063 regular season and 119 playoff games in the NHL between 1957-58 and 1971-72 with a short return to the league in 1979-80. Over that time, Hull scored 610 regular season goals. He would also net an additional 303 goals in 411 games in the WHA between 1972-73 and 1978-79 with the Winnipeg Jets.
