Bill Goldsworthy had his only two points of the series in a losing cause for Team Canada in game 4. Canada came up short in a 5-3 loss to the Soviets at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. It was the last of four games held on Canadian soil with the next four to be played at locations in Russia.
Bill’s Minnesota North Stars teammate J.P. Parise played in six games for Canada. Parise scored two and assisted on two for four points while leading the series with 28 minutes in penalties.
