A first team NHL All-Star choice in 1973, Rene is known for his explosive scoring ability. He was Buffalo’s second leading scorer 1975-76.

Rene was the first Buffalo player to reach 100 points.

ERROR – Rene Robert was NOT a First Team All-Star during the 1972-73 season. He did have an outstanding campaign, scoring 40 goals for the Buffalo Sabres that year. He would be selected to the Second Team in 1974-75 with his 100 point performance.

Robert was second on the Sabres in overall scoring in 1975-76 with 87 points, behind just Gilbert Perreault. His 35 goals were good for just fourth on the team, behind Danny Gare, Rick Martin and Perreault.

Rene had an even 100 points in 1974-75 on 40 goals and 60 assists. He indeed was the first in Buffalo Sabres franchise history to reach the plateau. Since, just four others have done it with Gil Perreault the only player topping 100 points twice. The team record belongs to Pat Lafontaine with 148 in 1992-93.

Between 1970-71 and 1981-82, Robert played 744 regular season and 50 playoff games in the National Hockey League. His NHL career began and ended with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Along with the Sabres, Rene also played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Colorado Rockies.
